Akinwumi Akinyemi is a seasoned cybersecurity, information systems audit, and technology consulting professional with over a decade of experience helping organizations strengthen governance, improve operational efficiency, manage technology risks, and enhance their cybersecurity posture. He serves as the Partner responsible for Technology & Enterprise Services at Regiis Maestro Consulting, where he leads the delivery of ICT advisory, cybersecurity, IT risk management, digital transformation, and enterprise technology consulting services.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree (Upper Class Division) in Computer Science from University of Ado Ekiti and is a member of the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA). He is also a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), bringing together strong technical expertise with governance, risk, and compliance experience.
Akinwumi has extensive experience in enterprise IT management, cybersecurity, information systems auditing, IT governance, and infrastructure security. Throughout his career, he has successfully designed and implemented security programs, conducted IT General Controls (ITGC) reviews, performed cybersecurity and risk assessments, managed technology infrastructure projects, and advised organizations on regulatory compliance and best practices in information security. His expertise spans industry-leading frameworks and standards, including ISO 27001, NIST, COBIT, GDPR, and PIPEDA.
Prior to joining Regiis Maestro Consulting in a leadership capacity, Akinwumi held key technology and cybersecurity roles across several organizations in Canada and Nigeria, leading initiatives in network security, information assurance, systems administration, business continuity, and cyber risk management. He has worked with clients and organizations across diverse sectors including financial services, healthcare, manufacturing, energy, construction, telecommunications, and consumer goods.
As a trusted advisor and trainer, Akinwumi has facilitated professional development programs and technical training covering network administration, server technologies, virtualization, cloud services, cybersecurity awareness, and information systems controls.
